Women's Basketball Set to Host American on Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's basketball team returns to the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Wednesday night to host the American Eagles. Action from University City is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed on FloCollege and NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team was defeated by the Saint Joseph's Hawks, 57-55, on Saturday afternoon at Hagan Arena on Hawk Hill. The Dragons received 20-point performances from Amaris Baker and Laine McGurk. With the loss, Drexel will play in the third-place game of the Toyota Women's Big 5 Classic against Temple on December 7 at the Finneran Pavillion on the campus of Villanova.
Baker paced the team, scoring 22 points on 8-for-18 shooting and 3-for-4 from deep. McGurk added 20 points to her stat sheet and made six free throws, a career-high. It is the first time that two Dragons scored 20 points in a single game since Chloe Hodges and Amaris Baker each scored 20 against Penn State on November 24, 2024.
The Dragons shot 50 percent from long range and shot a near-perfect 9-for-10 from the charity stripe.
