Three Men's Swimmers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Jakub Kwasny, Kacper Karnik, and Alessio Gianni of the Drexel men's swimming and diving team have been named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, as announced by the organization.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be of a sophomore academic standing or higher with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a key member of the team.
Kwasny had a record-breaking season, winning five gold medals and one silver at the 2025 CAA Championships. He claimed gold in the 100 fly with a CAA record time of 45.50 and added another in the 200 fly at 1:44.10. He was a key part of three winning relays: the 200 free relay (1:18.01), 400 free relay (2:52.71), and 400 medley relay (3:07.40), all of which set CAA records. He also earned silver in the 200 medley relay with a program-record 1:25.25. At the CSCAA National Invitational, he took first in the 100 fly (45.90) and 200 fly (1:44.40), while contributing to winning efforts in the 200 and 400 medley relays. The graduate senior has a 3.73 GPA as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Business Analytics.
Karnik earned two individual medals at the CAA Championships, taking silver in the 200 breast with a time of 1:55.94 and bronze in the 100 breast in 53.00. He was also part of the 200 medley relay team that earned silver with a program-record time of 1:25.25. At the CSCAA National Invitational, Karnik helped Drexel to a first-place finish in the 400 medley relay with a meet record time of 3:08.82. He placed fourth in the 50 breast, 12th in the 100 breast, and 17th in the 200 breast at the meet. The Radam, Poland native earned a 3.56 GPA as a Business Finance major.
Gianni captured silver medals in the 500 free (4:23.78) and 200 fly (1:45.56) at the 2025 CAA Championships and helped the 800 free relay team earn bronze while breaking the program record. He also clocked Drexel's best time in the 400 IM this season at 3:59.17 and ranked 13th in the CAA in points. At the CSCAA National Invitational, he placed 11th in the 200 fly and swam a season-best 1:37.20 in the 200 free at CAAs. The San Gimignano, Italy native earned 4.00 GPA in Pre-Med: Health Sciences.
