
Dragons Conclude Regular Season With 12th Place Finish at Mountaineer Invitational

BRIDGEPORT, W.V. - The Drexel golf team battled the elements as it concluded its regular season on Tuesday at the Mountaineer Invitational. The event was suspended on Monday, but finished up on Tuesday afternoon. The Dragons finished 12th out of 18 teams which included two nationally-ranked teams.
Drue Nicholas was the Dragons' top finisher this weekend. He was 15-over par over 54 holes, many of those played in rainy, windy conditions. The senior was one stroke better than Caleb Taylor, whose 73 in the second round was the Dragons' best round of the Invitational. Kevin Lydon shot 235, while Griffin Mitchell had a 237 and Brockton English shot 241.
Oklahoma State won the tournament going away. The fourth-ranked Cowboys finished at even par and won by 24 strokes over Kentucky, their nearest competitors.Texas Tech, who came into the week ranked 28th in the country, finished third at +34.
