Philadelphia, Pa. – Drexel had three men's lacrosse players named to the All-CAA Second Team. Collin Gucwa, Jack Joyner and Max Semple were each honored by the league prior to the 2025 CAA Championship, which begins tomorrow.
Gucwa, a senior, has now been named Second Team All-CAA in back-to-back seasons. The native of Pottstown, Pa., has been a starter on Drexel's defense for the last three seasons. This year, the Dragons led the CAA in scoring defense in league games. Gucwa has caused 27 turnovers in his career and has 61 ground balls.
Joyner started 13 games this season at midfield. He scored 15 goals, handed out 10 assists and was fourth on the team with 25 points. A junior, Joyner had at least one goal and two points in every CAA game he played in. Joyner had four-point games in wins against Stony Brook and Hofstra.
Semple, an attackman, led the Dragons with 35 goals and 40 points. It was his third 30-goal season at the school. The senior from Coquitlam, British Columbia, finished fourth in goals per game (2.83) in CAA play. Semple enters the CAA Semifinals third all-time in career goals at Drexel with 123.
The Dragons will begin postseason play on Thursday night against No. 18 Fairfield. The Dragons and Stags will meet at Towson's Johnny Unitas Field at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the CAA title game against either Towson or Hofstra.
