Dragon of the Week: Rigazio and De Sousa

PHILADELPHIA - Elisa Rigazio and Alex De Sousa were named Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopedics, for the week of March 31-April 6.

Rigazio, a member of the women's tennis team, was victorious in three of her four matches last week against Saint Joseph's and NJIT. In the Dragon's 5-2 victory over the Hawks, Rigazio picked up a singles and doubles win. She took down Wiktoria Czerny in straight sets, and won 6-3 in doubles action alongside Sofiya Snitko. The Lyon, France native collected a point in a hard fought battle, winning 7-6, 7-6 over NJIT's Laura Wipfli.

De Soura, a member of the men's tennis team, recorded a singles win over Max Amling of St. John's. Amling was the 2023 Southland Conference Player of the Year and a four-time All-Conference honoree. De Sousa topped Amling in straight-sets, 6-2, 6-4. The graduate student also helped Drexel blank Temple, 4-0, with a doubles win with Roman Lafond, 6-4.
