TULSA, Okla. – Tarek Mo Erlewein competed at the ITA All-American Championships, making his first appearance at the event. The sophomore represented Drexel on the national stage, taking part in one of the premier tournaments of the fall season.
Mo Erlewein opened play against Alexander Watanabe Eriksson of Santa Clara and battled through three tight sets before falling, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. His second scheduled match was canceled due to weather.
"Tarek fell just short at the All-American in a tight three-set battle against Santa Clara," head coach Mehdi Rhazali said. "He competed well, and this experience was a great opportunity for him. At this level, energy management and the discipline to sustain your level throughout the match are key."
"It was his first All-American appearance, and I'm glad he gained this exposure," Rhazali added. "We're excited for the rest of the fall season—Tarek is going to do big things here at Drexel."
