Dragon of the Week: Evans and Smith

PHILADELPHIA – Sebastian Smith and Deja Evans named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of January 20th–27th.
Sebastian Smith, a member of the men's swimming and diving team, earned CAA Swimmer of the Week honors after leading Drexel to a 176.5–123.5 victory over Towson. The senior recorded three individual wins, touching first in the 50 free (20.18), 100 free (43.83) and 100 fly (47.45), with all three times ranking among the top six in the CAA. The Wappingers, N.Y. native also contributed to the Dragons' first-place 200 medley relay.
Deja Evans, a member of the women's basketball team, was named CAA Player of the Week after helping Drexel to a pair of conference victories. The junior scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds and recorded a career-high five steals in a 49-41 win over Stony Brook before adding 10 points and five rebounds in a 68-45 victory against Towson. The Conshohocken, Pa. native helped Drexel post its largest win over Towson since 2019.
