Dragon of the Week: Baker and Nichter

PHILADELPHIA – Amaris Baker and Luke Nichter named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of December 30th–January 5th.
Amaris Baker, a member of the women's basketball team, led the Dragons in their CAA opener against Campbell. The graduate student scored a game-high 22 points, connecting on three shots from long range and going 5-for-6 from the free-throw line. The Philadelphia, Pa. native continues to pace Drexel offensively, averaging a team-high 21.2 points per game on the season.
Luke Nichter, a member of the wrestling team, earned a key ranked victory in Drexel's 19-16 dual win over No. 25 Purdue. The redshirt senior upset No. 16 Stoney Buell with a 12-4 major decision at 157 pounds, controlling the bout with multiple takedowns and back points. The Chambersburg, Pa. native helped the Dragons secure their second consecutive victory over a nationally ranked opponent.
