HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dragons would strike first again this game as eight minutes into the contest, Drexel would earn a corner, Nicole Enslin would insert the ball to Lemoine, who stopped it for Cato Nackaerts. The rookie fired the ball from the top of the circle and into the cage. The Dragons would keep the offense going in the first quarter with just over 30 seconds again. Lemoine would receive the pass from a penalty corner, passing it to Nackaerts who shot the sent the ball to the net before being deflected in by Flo Bosdijk to put Drexel up 2-0.
The second quarter began with back-and-forth action between both teams. With just under four minutes left, Schultz would get behind the defense, dribbling the ball into the circle before faking to the outside and pushing the ball through the keeper's legs, putting the Dragons up 3. Hofstra would not go away easily, as Sarah Smalley would respond for the Pride; as the ball got into the circle, Smalley tapped it in to make the game 3-1.
The team would take the first few minutes of the third quarter to get readjusted to each other. The Dragons would break that as Bosdijk received a ball on the left wing before threading a pass through the defender to Valentine Van Hellemont, who would turn and fire the ball past the keeper as the Dragons went up 4-1.
The Dragons would score in just 50 seconds after the fourth quarter began as Lemoine took the ball down the field and into the circle before pulling the goal away and passing it to a waiting Van Hellemont, who would score her second goal of the day. Drexel would score their sixth and final goal as Lemoine split two defenders at the top of the circle before drawing the goalkeeper away from the center and finding Schultz, who would hit the back of the cage for her second goal of the day.
