Dragons to Play Elon at DAC on Friday Night

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel women's basketball is set to play the Elon Phoenix in the team's only game of the week. The game against Elon is slated for 6 p.m. on NBC Sports Philadelphia and FloCollege.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team was defeated by the Monmouth Hawks in a double-overtime battle on Sunday afternoon inside the Daskalakis Athletic Center, 62-60. The Dragons fell to 14-8 overall and a 7-4 conference record, while Monmouth improved to 15-7 and 8-3 in CAA play.
Amaris Baker scored 22 points and connected with the bottom of the basket three times from deep.
Laine McGurk finished the game with 25 points and also grabbed six rebounds and one assist. McGurk scored nine point in overtime and hit a buzzer beater in regulation to push the game into the first overtime.
It was the first time that Drexel women's basketball has played a two-overtime game since the team faced William & Mary on January 30, 2022 and defeated the Tribe.

The Drexel women's basketball team defeated the Elon Phoenix, 63-56, for their fourth consecutive win on Sunday afternoon in North Carolina. The Dragons used double-digit performances by three players to improve to 15-9 overall and 11-3 in the conference, while Elon fell to 13-12 overall and a 7-7 tab in CAA play. Drexel has now won nine of its last 10 and is just one game out of first place in the Coastal Athletic Association.
Chloe Hodges completed her second double-double of the season and third in her career during the third quarter of the contest. The graduate student finished the game with 20 points, 12 rebounds and was 7-for-8 from the floor. Hodges narrowly missed a triple-double with eight assists in the win. Her 12 rebound performance ties a career-high, which she set on Friday against Campbell.
Deja Evans had another solid game for DU. She finished the contest with 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots. It was the second straight 15-point performance for the sophomore.
Cara McCormack scored 11 points in her fourth straight double-digit game.
Looking Ahead
Drexel has its final bye of the regular season on Sunday and will return to action on Friday, February 20 against the Hampton Pirates. Action from Hampton, Va. is set for 7 p.m. on FloCollege. The team will then travel to Williamsburg, Va. to take on the William & Mary Tribe at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 22.
