Dragons Open Road Trip at Hampton on Friday

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's basketball team is set for a southern road trip, beginning with a game against the Hampton Pirates on Friday night at 7 p.m. Action from Hampton's Convocation Center will be aired on FloCollege.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team outlasted the Elon Phoenix, 68-59 on Friday evening at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons improve to 15-8 overall and 8-4 in CAA play.
Amaris Baker finished with 27 points on 9-for-16 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. It is the 14th time this season that the graduate student has scored north of 20 points, and it is the 29th time of her career that she crossed that threshold.
Deja Evans scored 14 points on 5-for-8 shooting. The junior scored a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe and grabbed seven rebounds in the effort.
Elon only held the lead for 39 seconds before Drexel surged ahead to hold the lead for 38:53. The Dragons' largest lead was 19 points at the end of the third quarter.

Drexel and Hampton are set to meet for the eighth time in program history on Friday night. The Dragons currently hold a 5-2 advantage over the Pirates and have won the previous five matchups. The Dragons have not lost to the Pirates since March 19, 2015 during the first round of the 2015 WNIT Tournament. DU has won all three contests held on Hampton's home court, the last meeting coming on January 19, 2025.

The Drexel women's basketball team used an 18-0 first quarter to help defeat the Hampton Pirates, 75-42. It is the largest victory over the Pirates in program history, topping Drexel's 21-point victory over the Pirates on December 5, 2015.
It is also the widest victory margin in conference play since the Dragons defeated UNCW by 33 on February 4, 2022. It is tied for the sixth widest margin since DU joined the CAA.
Amaris Baker scored 24 points in Friday's victory and made 10 field goals. The graduate student added five rebounds and four assists to the stat sheet as well.
Laine McGurk broke double digits once more, scoring 10 points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing four assists.
Deja Evans paced Drexel in rebounds with 11.
Grace O'Neill finished with three points, eight rebounds and five assists. The senior became the first Dragon ever to score 600 points, grab 600 rebounds and dish out 350 assists.
