Drexel Shoots One-Under-Par in First Round of Peoples Championship

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Drexel golf team fired a one-under-par 283 to finish the first round of the 2026 Peoples Championship in seventh place on Thursday afternoon. The three-day tournament, hosted by Western Carolina is played at Sea Palms Resort, a par-71 6,608-yard course.
Three Dragons fired 1-under-par 70. Caleb Taylor, John Keba and John Stevenson all shot under-par in round one, all tied on the individual leaderboard for 21st.
After the first 18 holes, the hosts and Belmont lead the 21-team field, shooting a seven-under-par followed by Samford and Villanova. Winthrop and Charleston Southern are in fifth and sixth place, respectively. Drexel rounds out the teams who were green in the first day.
Drexel returns to Sea Palms Resort on Friday morning to play round two of the Peoples Championship.
