Women’s Rowing Claims Pair of Wins Over Georgetown

PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel women's rowing team earned a pair of wins over Georgetown Saturday morning on the Schuylkill River, with the 2nd Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ both turning in first-place finishes.
Rowing in Laura Ludwick White, the V4+ of Katie O'Donnell (Coxswain), Kari Prosperi (Stroke), Hazel Danko, Paige Hartshorn and River Trotter (Bow) opened the day with a 2.15-second margin over the Hoyas, finishing in 6:52.73.
The 2V8+ followed with a 6.63 second victory over second-place Georgetown. Lauren Shaw (Coxswain), Clara Leimkuhler (Stroke), Ria Jones, Jaelyn Walsh, Heather Humes, Valeria Sanango, Alyssa Bucci, Michaela Werber and Kieran Harrington (Bow) powered the Alleva XVII to a time of 7:02.90. The Drexel 3V8+ did not start.
The Varsity 8+ crossed the line behind the Hoyas with a time of 6:52.73.
The Dragons return to the water on Saturday, April 25 to compete in the Kerr Cup on Senior Day.
