RICHMOND, Va. - The CAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its annual Leadership Summit in Richmond, Va., June 11-13. 2026-27 SAAC President Katie O'Donnell of the women's rowing team, Jason Foutz of the wrestling team and Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development Peaches Brown represented the Dragons at the Summit.
The Leadership Summit included 25 student-athletes from all 13 CAA institutions, along with an administrator from each school and members of the conference staff.
Summit participants had the opportunity to share ideas and concerns about their student-athlete experience and to provide input on a variety of conference and national issues. Alexis Hornbuckle, a two-time NCAA and WNBA champion, provided the keynote address on Thursday evening.
Friday saw the student-athletes volunteer at a sports and STEM camp for children at the Richmond Boys and Girls Club before attending a leadership workshop led by Brown.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with SAAC leaders from across the CAA," said O'Donnell. "I have enjoyed the meaningful conversations with our conference commissioners and the ability to make an impact through service at the Boys & Girls Club. Leadership is at its best when it brings people together."
CAA Commissioner Joe D'Antonio addressed the group as part of their business session on Saturday morning.
"The CAA SAAC Summit was a great experience," said Foutz. "I enjoyed connecting with student-athlete leaders from across the conference, sharing ideas, and learning new ways to support my fellow Dragons."
