Crawford Shoots One-Under Par to End Run at J.T. Poston Invitational

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – Drexel men's golf closed out play at the J.T. Poston Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 14th in the 17-team field with a three-round score of 7-over-par at Waynesville Inn & Golf Club. South Carolina captured the team title, finishing the three-day tournament 31-under par, while N.C. State and Virginia Tech tied for second at 26-under par.
Nathan Crawford paced the Dragons in the final round with a 1-under-par 70. The freshman opened his day with birdies on holes 1 and 2 and added two more on the back nine at Nos. 12 and 13. Crawford finished the tournament at even par, tied for 48th overall.
John Stevenson concluded the event at 1-over par after shooting a final-round 73. Stevenson recorded birdies on holes 1, 5 and 11 and finished tied for 54th.
Freshman Luca Kleinschmidt carded a 3-over-par 74 in the final round to finish his first collegiate tournament at 9-over par.
John Keba and Harry Cohen each shot 5-over-par 76 on Tuesday and finished tied for 70th at 4-over par for the tournament. Keba recorded birdies on holes 5, 6 and 12, while Cohen birdied holes 12, 13 and 18 during the final round.
Drexel returns to action on September 20 to play in the Temple Fall Invitational at The 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
