PHILADELPHIA — A header from Adriana Salzano in the 75th minute lifted the Drexel women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Lehigh on Thursday night. With the win, the Dragons earned their second victory at home and improved to 3-2-1 overall.

The Dragons opened the scoring early in the first half. Liv Brocious intercepted the ball on the Drexel side of the field and played it ahead to Jess Castorina. The senior sent a cross from outside the left corner of the box to Makenzie McCready, who headed the ball into the left corner of the net for the score. The Medford, N.J., native now has three goals on the season and seven points overall.

The Mountain Hawks responded with a goal of their own in the 51st minute. Summer Hill sent the ball downfield to Aminah Baruwa, who beat Gracie Sullivan to the ball and scored the equalizer.

Drexel scored the game-winning goal on a corner kick opportunity. On the Dragons' 11th corner of the day, Alex Rivera sent the ball into the box with her right foot, finding Adrianna Salzano just outside the six-yard box. The junior got her head on the ball and beat the diving goalkeeper to give the Dragons the go-ahead goal.

In her second appearance in a Drexel uniform at Vidas Field, Sullivan made eight saves. The sophomore now has 32 saves on the season after recording a career-high 10 stops last weekend.

The Dragons return home to Philadelphia on Sunday, Sept. 6, when they host Lafayette at 3 p.m.
