PHILADELPHIA — Nia Chinapoo collected two goals as the Dragons bested Lafayette, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. The pair marked the first two goals of the senior's Division I career. Drexel has now won three straight to improve to 4-2-1 overall, surpassing its win total from a season ago.

Chinapoo tallied her first of the day in the 31st minute. Emma Herko sent the cross into the box to Chinapoo, who beat her defender and put it through the net with the left boot.

The Dragons found the back of the net again in the 73rd minute. Adriana Salzano played the ball forward from beyond the midfield line, where it deflected off a Lafayette defender. Chinapoo tracked down the loose ball and finished with a sliding kick to give Drexel a 2-0 lead. The Harrisburg native now leads the team in scoring with eight points on the year.

Lafayette scored late to cut the lead in half late in the match. In the 88th minute, Madia Zaffanella beat the Drexel defenders and found Lily Castle for the score.

The Leopards had another attempt on goal late that was stopped by Gracie Sullivan, her only save on the match. Lafayette finished with just seven shots compared to Drexel's 17.

The Dragons wrap up non-conference action on Sunday, September 13, when Drexel hosts rival Delaware. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from Vidas Field, with the Dragons celebrating Senior Day.
