2009-10: Claimed the CAA Championship 200 fly for the third straight year while setting a new Drexel school record at 1:47.98…took second in the 200 fly at Shippensburg…lead team with best performance in the 100 and 200 fly posting times of 49.86 and 1:51.06, respectively.
2008-09: Defended his 200 fly conference championship with a 1:48.69 to win the event by 0.84 seconds over UNC Wilmington's Brandon Hicks…the mark shattered Roger Baldino's 1992 school record by 0.98 seconds…took third in consolation final at conference championships in the 100 fly…member of Drexel’s top medley relay team.
2007-08: Won CAA Championship in 200 fly with second-fastest time in Drexel history (1:50.33)...earned All-CAA honors in both the 100 and 200 fly...took second place in the 100 fly at CAA’s with third-fastest time in school history (49.77)...helped shatter Drexel school mark in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.73 at CAA’s that broke a 17-year-old record by 1.56 seconds.
Background: Member of the Turkish National Team that took second place at the 2007 Black Sea Games...took first place in the National Championships in Turkey and the Balcan Championships.
Personal: Son of Olcay Yavuz...majoring in commerce and engineering.
