2007-08: Named CAA Rookie of the Year after winning the 200 free conference championship with a school-record time of 1:39.49...placed in the top six in the conference in three events...set a school record with a 4:32.27 in the 500 free at CAA’s to take fourth place...took sixth at CAA Championships with fourth-fastest time in school history (46.33)...posted a perfect 11-0 record in the 200 and 500 free in dual meets...helped break 400 medley relay school record at CAA’s with a time of 3:25.84.
Background: Four-year letterwinner at Sunrise Mountain High School...named the 2006 Boys Swimmer of the Year in the 5A Division in Arizona.
Personal: Son of Craig and Martha Podguski...majoring in biomedical engineering.
