2013: Played in 20 games on the season, starting in 14 of them…added two goals and an assist in Drexel’s win over Kent State… scored a goal in Drexel’s, 4-0, win over Towson on senior day.
At Virginia: A 2012 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-South Region Second Team selection…recorded 16 goals and 36 points…ranked fourth in the ACC in goals and sixth in points…posted six multi-goal games…tallied four game-winning goals in the season…scored a goal in the second round of the NCAA tournament against Princeton…named to the 2011 and the 2012 All-ACC Academic Team…named to the academic honor roll both years.
Background: Named to the 2013 United States National Indoor Team and the United States U-19 National Team…toured Vancouver with U-19 National Team…toured Cologne, Germany with East Coast Field Hockey Club…played with Pennsylvania High Performance Team in the summer of 2012 and 2013…played for Pennsylvania in the 2011 Junior National Championships…a four-year varsity letterwinner at Lewisburg High School…served as a team captain and named the team’s most valuable player…a 2010 First Team All-State…a Two-time First Team All-Heartland Conference honoree...a National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society member…also, played softball.
Personal: Daughter of Virginia and Joel Sumfest... her Mother, Virginia, played softball at the University of San Francisco…majoring in business administration/marketing.
