Erin McNeely joined the Office of Athletic Communications at Drexel University in the Spring of 2021. McNeely joined the staff at Drexel after spending the previous year working for the United States Military Academy.
At Army, McNeely served as the primary contact for men's and women's lacrosse, wrestling, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's rugby as well as assisting with the football, men's and women's basketball, softball, volleyball and track and field programs. While with the Black Knights, McNeely successfully helped run each home football game while navigating the COVID-19 parameters, including hosting the CIC title matchup and the 121st Annual Army/Navy game. She also assisted the Army wrestling program through back-to-back top finishes at the EIWA tournament, including the naming of two conference champions in 2021 and an appearance at the NCAA tournament. In addition to her athletic communication roles, McNeely also held the position of Social Media Coordinator for the 121st Army/Navy game where she worked with the staff from Navy to run the social media and promotions efforts leading up to the game as well as during the duration of the game.
Prior to Army, McNeely spent the 2018-2019 school year and part of the 2019-2020 school year with the State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport’s Athletics Communications office. She served as the primary contact for 12 varsity sports including field hockey, volleyball, women’s basketball, softball, cross country, track and field, swimming and diving, gymnastics and a secondary contact for football. During her time with the Golden Eagles, McNeely oversaw the communications efforts for the women’s volleyball program’s trip to the 2019 NCAA tournament, helped host and public announce the 2019 SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships as well as the 2018 NCAA DIII football first and second round.
During undergrad, McNeely did two semesters worth of internship work with the State University of New York at Oswego’s Athletic Communications office in the spring of 2017 and 2018. She assisted the office in all social media efforts for their 23 varsity sports, writing pre and post-game stories for the athletics website and a variety of game day activities.
McNeely graduated from SUNY Oswego in 2018 with a degree in Broadcasting and Mass Communication and a minor in Athletic Coaching. Following Oswego, she continued her education at Brockport where she received a graduate degree in Athletic Administration.
In addition to her educational experiences, McNeely also held internship roles with WICZ Fox 40 television station in Binghamton, N.Y. and worked part time as a production assistant for CBS Sports Network in Manhattan, N.Y. where she contributed to the preproduction of March Madness, That Other Pregame Show, Inside College Basketball and the NFL Today Show.
McNeely is a native of Milford, PA and currently resides in the city of Philadelphia.
