Bobby Jordan is beginning his fourth season at his alma mater. Jordan took over as an assistant coach prior to the 2012-13 season, when Ashley Howard took a position at Xavier University. He works with Drexel’s guards and recruits for the Dragons. In his first year recruiting, Jordan helped bring in the top-ranked recruiting class in the CAA to University City according to Hoopscoop. That class included current Dragons Major Canady, Rodney Williams, and Mohamed Bah. Jordan was the youngest assistant coach in the Colonial Athletic Association when he was hired in the summer of 2012.
Jordan worked the previous two seasons as an operations assistant for Head Coach Bruiser Flint. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office and assisted with team travel and academics.
Jordan was a major influence in the development of guards Damion Lee and Tavon Alllen. During his time in University City, Jordan has also played an integral role in the development of guards Frantz Massenat and Chris Fouch. Massenat was a First Team All-CAA pick and CAA All Rookie pick, while Fouch, was a three time All-CAA selection as well as the CAA Rookie of the Year. Massenat and Fouch both rank in the top six all-time at the school in scoring. .
Jordan has been a presence with Drexel basketball since 2005. He originally walked-on the team as a freshman and eventually earned a scholarship. Jordan graduated from the school with a degree in sport management in 2009. He has also started work on his master’s degree, also in sport management.
While an undergraduate, Jordan worked with The Hoop Group in New Jersey. He worked in camp instruction and with team tournaments.
A Philadelphia native, Jordan was a four-year starter in high school at Roman Catholic. He was a three-time All-Catholic League selection and was a Markward Award Winner.
Jordan married Caitlin Slover, a former standout on the women’s basketball team at Penn, this spring. They live in Philadelphia.
