2012-13: Recorded 13 wins in 24 appearances…tied for team-leader with six pins on the season…won seven of the 12 dual matches and two of the four CAA conference matches he competed in.
2011-12: Went 17-16 overall with six wins-by-fall against Rider (twice), N. Colorado, Franklin & Marshall, Indiana, and Brown, and three major decisions…went 9-8 in duals and had six victories in 10 appearances in CAA competition…finished fifth place in Mat Town and fourth place in CAAs.
2010-11: Wrestled as a true freshman starting in Drexel’s 149 pound slot all season going 15-11 overall…picked up three pins, a team-second best, as well as two major decisions…had an impressive run at the Cornell Body Bar going 4-0 earning first place at 149 pounds which produced CAA Rookie of the Month honors for November.
Background: Placed three times in Beast of the East…two time AAA state place winner…district and regional champion as well as Junior National All-American...member of high school team that was state runner up and third place during tenure, ranked as high as fifth nationally.
Personal: Son of Joe and Alison Sommer…majoring in general studies.
