- 1979
The 1958 Drexel University Men’s Soccer team is the only team in school history in any sport to win a national championship. The 22-man squad was awarded the championship by the Intercollegiate Soccer Football Association of America, then the governing body of men’s college soccer.
The team finished the year undefeated at 12-0. The Dragons scored 76 goals in those 12 games and beat every one of their opponents by at least two goals. Stanley Dlugosz, Robert Muschek and Ozzie Jethon were the tri-captains of the team. Each player was also named to the All-America Team. The head coach of the Dragons was Don Yonker, another member of the Drexel Athletics Hall of Fame.
