Philadelphia, Pa. -Frank Elegar scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half and Chaz Crawford (Philadelphia, Pa./Hargrave Military) had another strong performance on the glass as Drexel defeated UNC Wilmington, 69-55, at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. It was the ninth straight win for the Dragons, who improved to 11-2 on the season and 3-0 in CAA play. The Seahawks (3-9, 0-3) had beaten the Dragons in their five previous meetings.
Elegar was 12-for-13 from the line and on his only miss, he grabbed the offensive rebound and slammed home a dunk which extended Drexel's lead to 14 points with 2:39 to play. He was one of four Dragons to score at least 10 points. Crawford had a career-high 15 rebounds and rejected six Seahawks' shots. It was the second straight game that Crawford had double digits in rebounds and six blocks.

Mejia nailed a pair of three-pointers, Mason added another trey and Elegar hit a short jumper to account for the first 11 points. Vladimir Kuljanin scored on a lay-up to break the drought for UNCW. The Dragons never trailed in the contest as they extended their winning streak. The last time Drexel won nine straight games was during the 1996-97 season.
