Philadelphia, Pa. - Drexel defeated St. Francis (N.Y.) in convincing fashion, sweeping all its matches in a dominating win over the Terriers. The closest match of the day was at first singles where Omar Laalej took three sets to finish off Jindrich Chaloupka 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. Drexel did not allow the Terriers to win a game in the remainder of its singles matches.
Sabyaschi Bose, Ayusha Wadhwan, Jarrod Popovice and Alex Barnes all closed out their matches unscathed and Gaurav Parihk won by default at sixth singles to claim Drexel's sixth overall point. In doubles play the pairing of Laalej and Joe Koebele defeated Chaloupka and Elan Evans 8-6. Popovice and Barnes shutout Tyrone Fordham and Assem El-Gharir 8-0 at second doubles while Bose and Wadhwan won by default to close out Drexel's 9-0 blanking.
Laalej and Koebele are in action this weekend at the Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Championships, held at Princeton University.
