Elegar Nets 1,000th Point in Dragons' 65-53 Victory Over Bucknell

Philadelphia, Pa.. – Scott Rodgers (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) scored a season-high 18 points and Frank Elegar (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) had 16 points in the second half, including the 1,000th of his career as Drexel defeated Bucknell, 65-53.
The Dragons raced out to an big early lead and led 34-15 at the half. The Dragons' defense allowed just six field goals in the first half and the Bison (4-6) shot just 21 percent from the floor. Drexel (6-5) knocked down five three-pointers in the half, including three by Rodgers, who had 13 of his 18 points in the first 20 minutes.
Elegar, who also had his 500th career rebound in the game, was held without a shot in the first half and was saddled with two early fouls. He bounced back in the second half by making all four of his shots from the field and going 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Kenny Tribbett (Berlin, N.J./Chester) came off the bench to score 10 points and grab five rebounds. Freshman Jamie Harris (New York, N.Y./Wings Academy) handed out a career-high six assists without a turnover as Drexel committed a season-low 13 miscues.
The Dragons continue their six-game homestand on Thursday against Rider in the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
