Drexel Stopped by Old Dominion, 62-52

Philadelphia, Pa. – Four Monarchs reached double figures in scoring as Old Dominion defeated Drexel, 62-52 in a Colonial Athletic Association game held at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The win gave Old Dominion (16-7, 9-3 CAA) a sweep of the season series.
Old Dominion scored the final four points of the first half and the first seven points of the second half to take a 38-27 lead. They held the lead the rest of the way as Drexel struggled from the floor the entire night. The Dragons shot just 22 percent in the second half and missed their first 11 shots in the final frame. Despite their problems from the floor the Dragons stayed in the game and cut the lead to six points with 1:07 to play after trailing by as many as 13 points. ODU made 10 of their 11 free throws in the final 1:22 to seal the victory for the Monarchs
Arnaud Dahi, Valdas Vasylius and Drew Williamson each had 14 points for Old Dominion. Dahi added a career-best 17 rebounds. Frank Elegar (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) led the Dragons with 16 points. He was just 7-for-17 from the floor. Chaz Crawford (Philadelphia, Pa./Hargrave Military) grabbed 13 rebounds in a losing cause for Drexel.
