Minneapolis, Minn. – On day one of the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Kate Hynes recorded a 26th-place finish in the 1-meter preliminary diving competition. Hynes earned 284.80 points but failed to make the finals.
Cassidy Krug of Stanford was eventually named the NCAA Champion after earning 361.55 points in the 1-meter final.
Hynes will be back in action tomorrow on the 3-meter springboard. Preliminary competition will get underway at 1:00 p.m. and finals will begin at 7 p.m. at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
