Podgurski Takes Three While Madkour Takes Two Events at La Salle

Philadelphia - Drexel men's swimming & diving opened its season with a 162-138 loss at La Salle though Craig Podgurski and Sharif Madkour each took first place in two events. Podgurski took the 200 free with a time of 1:43.95, the 500 free in 4:50.18 and the 100 in 47.52. Madkour, making his collegiate debut, finished the 200 breast in 2:10.46 and the 200 IM in 2:00.07 to win both events.
Adrian Sabovici won the 1000 free with a time of 10:02.69 while Mert Karsiyakalilar took first place with a time of 52.10 in the 100 fly. Jacob Roberson opened his senior season with a victory on the 1-meter board as he recorded a 302.25 in the event. Sophomore Ian Jevnick took the 3-meter board with a score of 298.50 and placed second on the 1-meter board.
The Dragons return to action Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet in Harrisonburg, Va.
