Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Match at St. Peter's

Jersey City, N.J. - Drexel won at fourth and sixth singles and took one of the three doubles matches, but could not pull out a second to garner the team point as the Dragons fell in a close 5-2 match at St. Peter's. Freshman Noorie Jadeja picked up her first collegiate victory in a thrilling three-set match at sixth singles, 6-1, 4-6, 10-6.
Senior Jaimee Wylie improved to 5-3 on the season in singles play with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Meredith Earley at fourth singles. Drexel's doubles pairing of Emily and Mellisa Lewis won the team's lone doubles match 8-6 over Laurie Souksavath and Meredith Earley. Emily Lewis lost a heartbreaker at first singles. After falling 6-4 in the first set, she rebounded to take the second set 7-5 and took the third set to a tiebreaker before falling 10-8 to drop the match.
Drexel hits the courts again on Feb. 24 for a 10:00 a.m. match in Bethlehem, Pa. against Lehigh.
