Santa Clara, Calif. - Drexel saw its fifth victory of the season slip away in the late innings of a tough 8-5 loss to Boston College at the Santa Clara University Bronco Stampede Tournament. The Dragons took a 5-1 lead into the sixth inning but could not hold off the Eagles rally in the loss. Amanda Hastings went 2-for-4 in the game and collected her 100th career hit.
Katrina Gaudier got the start and went 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs batted in. She ran into trouble in the sixth inning and was relieved by Amanda Shattuck. The junior didn't have any better luck shutting down Boston College, yeilding six runs in the inning before giving way to Breanna Gomez who closed out the game.
Ashley Botelho went 2-for-3 with an RBI, she has now hit safely in seven of the team's first nine games this season. Drexel finishes day two at the Bronco Stampede Tournament against Campbell, a team the Dragons lost to earlier this season at the Georgia Southern Tournament. Opening pitch of that contest is set for noon (PST).
