Dover, Del. - Katrina Gaudier picked up her second pitching win of the weekend at the Capital City Classic Tournament hosted by Delaware State as the Dragons defeated Marist 4-1 on Sunday. The sophomore pitched seven solid innings to improve to 5-3 on the season, helping her team put the wraps on a perfect 6-0 week of softball.
With the game tied 1-1 going into the sixth inning, senior Amanda Hastings smacked a home run to put the Dragons on top 2-1. Drexel went on to plate two more insurance runs and seal the victory.
Drexel enters conference play on a six-game winning streak, the Dragons' longest string of successive victories since the 2005 season when they won six straight from April 5 to 10. The team will open CAA play with a three-game set against UNC Wilmington at Drexel Field next weekend.
