Men's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season With Commanding Win Over Delaware State

Philadelphia - Drexel men's tennis closed out the 2007-08 regular season with a strong performance against Delaware State on Senior Day at the Vidas Athletic Complex. The Dragons did not drop a set in a 7-0 victory over the Hornets. Senior Omar Laalej closed out one of the most successful seasons of singles play in Drexel history with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alexey Chibisov for his 21st win of the year. Fellow senior Gaurav Parikh won his final doubles match as a Dragon with partner Sabyasachi Bose, 8-2 over Tyler Wyatt and Michael Siembida.
Sabyasachi Bose, Joe Koebele, Carlo Pangilinan, Jason Savage-Pollock and Alex Barnes won in singles play for the Dragons. Laalej teamed with Savage-Pollock for an 8-6 win at first singles over Chibisov and Oleg Mironchikov. Koebele and Pangilinan dispatched Brian Gelis and Milos Velickovic at second doubles and Bose and Parikh shut down Wyatt and Siembida 8-2 as well at third doubles.
The Dragons finished the 2007-08 regular season with a 10-8 mark overall heading into next weekend's CAA Championships in Virginia.
