Newport News, Va. - Drexel women's tennis saw its season come to an end with a 4-0 loss to sixth-seeded UNC Wilmington in the CAA Tournament at the Huntington Park Tennis Center in Virginia. The Dragons, who entered competition as the No. 11 seed, wrapped up a 6-11 season in 2007-08.
UNC Wilmington swept doubles play to earn a team point before the singles matches got underway. Freshman Noorie Jadeja lost her first set 6-0, but was leading 4-3 in the second when the Seahawks clinched the victory, so she was unable to close out the comeback.
Drexel closed out the season strong, winning four of its final six matches entering the CAA Tournament. Emily and Mellissa Lewis posted a 7-3 record as the Dragons' top doubles team. Gabriela Marginean went 6-2 as the team's top singles performer on the season.
