Lindsay, Yiantsos Lead Drexel Past UMBC, 3-0

Baltimore, Md.-Freshman Jenna Lindsay scored a pair of goals and senior Aleka Yiantsos added a goal and an assist as Drexel defeated UMBC, 3-0. It was the second straight win for the Dragons (5-2), who have scored seven goals in the last two games.
Lindsay got the Dragons on the board in the 33rd minute of the contest. She fired the ball into the far corner after taking a feed from Yiantsos. It would be the only goal of the first half. During the first 45 minutes, the Dragons controlled play, outshooting the Retrievers (1-7), 6-4, and picking up nine cornerkicks.
The Dragons got an insurance goal early in the second half when Yiantsos broke down the right side of the field and cut in towards the net. She put the ball in the far upper corner for career goal number 17. That moved her into sole possession of second place in career goals at Drexel. Seven minutes later, Lindsay put home her second goal of the game and seventh of the season off the goalkeeper's hands and into the net. Michelle Donnelly and Carly Snyder were each credited with assists as the Drexel offense continued its stellar play of late.
Kaitlin Bond picked up a pair of saves in goal for Drexel. Nicole Sinclair came into the game with just under 27 minutes left and recorded a save as well. The Dragons return to action on Sunday against Saint Joseph's at Vidas Field, It is the final non-conference match before the Dragons begin Colonial Athletic Association play.
