Women's Tennis Opens Season With Dominating Win at Fairleigh Dickinson

Teaneck, N.Y. - Drexel women's tennis got its fall season underway with a commanding 4-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. Newcomers Zineb Hilali, Gozde Unkaya and Elise Leizerovich swept singles play without losing a set to power the Dragons (1-0) past the FDU Knights (0-2).

Seniors Emily and Mellissa Lewis teamed up to lead the Dragons in doubles action with a 8-1 win over Jessica DeCarlos and Christine Martina. Hilali and Unkaya teamed up to win the other doubles match and claim the team point for Drexel with a 8-7 (7-0) victory over Dzana Ferhatbegovich and Jinny DeCarlos.

The Dragons are back in action on Oct. 3 when they travel to play city rival Saint Joseph's in a 3:00 p.m. match.
