Philadelphia - Craig Podgurski, Sherif Madkour and Ian Jevnick all took first-place finishes in the Dragons' home opener against rival Delaware. The Blue Hens won the meet, 151-92. Podgurski took the 500 free while Madkour placed first in the 100 breast. Jevnick swept both boards while posting a career best score on the 3-meter dive.
Podgurski continued to show the form he displayed last season when he earned Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year honors. The sophomore won the 500 free in 4:43.19 while teammate Adrian Sabovici finished second with a time of 4:44.30. Madkour edged Delaware's Ross Buckwalter in the 100 breast as he touched the wall in 59.25, while Buckwalter clocked a 59.54.
Jevnick had one of his finest days since arriving at Drexel as the sophomore scored 361.05 on the 3-meter board and 303.15 on the 1-meter to win both events. His score on the 3-meter board topped his previous career high by almost 20 points. His 1-meter score was just 0.30 points off of his season best.
