Dragons Fall in Spring Opener vs. Penn

Philadelphia - Drexel men's tennis suffered its first loss of the year, after posting a perfect 2-0 record in dual match play this past fall. The Dragons ventured down 33rd Street and were promptly turned back by their University City rivals Penn, 7-0, at the Levy Pavilion.
Transfer Mehdi Rhazali made his Drexel debut at third singles where he put up one of the best matches of the day before falling 6-4, 7-5 to Penn's Adam Schawartz, who is ranked No. 12 in the northeast region. Rhazali
At first singles, Drexel's senior duo of Joe Koebele and Carlo Pangilinan battled with Hicham Laalej and Phil Law, Penn's top doubles pair that is also the seven rated combo in the ITA's northeast region, before falling 8-5 to the Quakers.
The Dragons are back in action on Sunday, Feb. 1 when they travel to upstate New York to take on Colgate.
