Philadelphia - Christina Mastropaolo established a new Drexel single-season record as she scored her 19th and 20th goals of the season in the Dragons' 4-1 victory over University City rival Penn. Her 20th goal broke the previous Drexel record held by Pamie Zukowski and Susan Ciufo. The win moved Drexel to 12-2 while Penn dropped to 4-9 on the season.
Penn recorded the first goal of the game as Kelsey Tahan connected on a penalty stroke 1:31 into the game. From there the Dragons controlled the game as Ciufo scored the equalizer off of a penalty corner as she deflected a Jordan Freese shot into the net seven minutes before halftime.
After the break, Mastropaolo tied the record with an unassisted goal just over three minutes into the second half then broke the mark when she slammed home a Carolina Gibernau offering near the end line on the left side that gave Drexel a 3-1 lead less than six minutes later. With 21 minutes to go, Jennifer Bolger iced the game with an unassisted score.
Drexel held a 21-6 advantage in shots, including an 11-1 edge in the second half. Jenna Phillips made three saves for Drexel while Kieran Sweeney stopped 13 Drexel shots.
