Women's Soccer to Honor Seniors at Tonight's Match Against UNCW

Philadelphia - The Drexel women's soccer program will honor seniors Jackie Barrett, Caley Burke, Alicia Jiulianti and Carly Snyder prior to tonight's 7:00 p.m. match against the UNC Wilmington Seahawks. The quartet has been the nucleus of a hard-working team and has helped to elevate the program during their time at Drexel. Senior Day proceedings commence approximately 20 minutes prior to opening kick of the match at the Vidas Athletic Complex on 43rd and Powelton Ave.

Teams: Drexel (3-11-1, 1-6-1) vs. UNCW (8-7-1, (4-3-1)
Venue: Vidas Field, Philadelphia, Pa.
All-Time Series: UNCW leads 5-1-1
Last Meeting: During their last meeting, UNCW beat Drexel 2-0 in Wilmington. The Seahawks held a 22-8 advantage in shots in the contest, but didn't score a goal until the 66th minute. Five minutes later the Seahawks' talied their second goal of the contest. In the closing minutes of the second half, Drexel's Jenna Lindsay attempted a goal but it was blocked by the Seahawks' keeper.
Entering the Match: The Dragons lost a tough 4-3 match in overtime to Towson on Monday. The contest was the make-up of a match that had been scheduled to be played over the weekend, but was cancelled due to inclement weather. Drexel came back from a 2-0 first-half deficit to tie the match in the second half and pull ahead late in the proceeding on goals by Jenna Lindsay, Elizabeth Matta and the first career goal off the foot of Katie Duncan. A failed clear resulted in the game-tying goal for Towson and the Tigers struck early in the first extra period for the win.
Players to Watch: Freshman Alex Vazquez is a player to watch with two goals and four assists to date, and Sophomore forward Jenna Lindsay has a team-high of four goals this season. On the Seahwaks side, watch out for Stephanie Rose with her seven goals and three assists.
Up Next: The Dragons will play against Georgia State at Vidas Field on Oct. 25 at noon.
