Tenth-ranked Drexel will travel to Towson for a key Colonial Athletic Association field hockey match-up on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. With victories in their final two games the Dragons would clinch the conference regular season title and host the CAA Championships. The Dragons are 15-2 overall and 5-1 in the CAA while Towson enters the game with a 6-10 mark and are 0-6 against conference opponents.
Drexel has been led offensively by Christina Mastropaolo and Susan Ciufo. The pair of juniors have combined for 41 goals and 99 points this season with both players ranked in the top 15 nationally in goals per game and points per game. Freshman Jenna Phillips was recently selected as the national Rookie of the Week by womensfieldhockey.com after posting seven saves, including five in overtime, in the Dragons' 1-0 victory over Lafayette.
Despite being winless in the CAA the Tigers have been a tough opponent for many in the conference. The Tigers took defending conference champion James Madison and preseason favorite Old Dominion to overtime before dropping 2-1 decisions to both teams. Last week Towson lost a hard-fought 6-5 game to first-place Delaware.
