Drexel Travels to Northeastern Looking for Record-Setting 10th Straight Victory

Boston, Mass. - Drexel Field Hockey will travel to Northeastern for a Colonial Athletic Association game on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 2:00 p.m. With a victory, the Dragons would establish a new school record for consecutive wins with 10 surpassing last year's nine-game winning streak. Drexel is 12-3 overall and first place in the CAA with a 5-0 mark. The Huskies enter the game with a 7-9 overall record after stunning No. 20 Stanford in the team's last game and hold a 2-2 mark in conference play.
Drexel staved off a Lafayette upset bid in the Dragons' most recent victory a 3-2 triumph in Easton, Pa. The Dragons scored three goals in the final 10 minutes, including a Kim Tunell strike with just four seconds remaining to allow Drexel to escape with the victory. Christina Mastropaolo leads the team with 12 goals and 29 points this season while Susan Ciufo is second with nine goals and 23 points. Tunell has a team-high nine assists in her senior season.
Northeastern's overtime victory over Stanford was the Huskies' second against a ranked opponent this season as they stopped Boston University, 1-0, earlier in the season. Nicky Graham recorded the overtime winner against the Cardinal while Lizzie Priest made 13 saves in goal. Crystal Poland, last year's CAA Rookie of the Year, leads the team with eight goals this season while Carolyn Malloy has a team high 19 points and nine assists.
