Drexel is looking to recover from a two-game skid after a losses to Hofstra and Georgia State by a combined total of three points. Marginean put her name atop the ledger of Philadelphia's all-time women's basketball scoring leaders when she poured in 34 points at Georgia State on Thursday to surpass Philadelphia's Tammy Greene ('94) as the city scoring leader. With the loss to the Panthers, Drexel finds itself in a three-way tie for second place in the CAA and in need of a win today to secure a top-four finish and a bye in the first round of the CAA Tournament.
The Seahawks are coming off a 63-53 loss to George Mason on Thursday. Junior forward Brittany Blackwell led UNCW in the loss with 16 points and eight rebounds. Blackwell, a two-time All-CAA player is the team's leader in scoring and rebounding this season and she ranks among the CAA's leaders in both categories. Today is the first meeting between Drexel and UNCW this season. Drexel is 7-6 all-time against the Seahawks and UNCW has not won at Drexel since the 2002-03 season.
