Philadelphia – Drexel men's lacrosse sophomore Mark Manos has been named a Third Team All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Manos (West Chester, Pa./Salesianum), a goalkeeper, became the first Dragon to be named a Third Team All-American since 1971.
Manos led the Dragons to a 10-5 record including four victories against top 10 teams in 2010. He had a .585 save percentage and an 8.30 goals against average this season and enters championship weekend ranked in the top 10 nationally in both categories. Manos, the Colonial Athletic Association's Player of the Year, recorded 10 or more saves on nine occasions. He opened the season with 17 against No. 3 Virginia and matched that total three weeks later in Drexel's upset of No. 3 Notre Dame.
Manos is the third Dragon in the last four years to earn All-America status. Defenseman Adam Crystal was an Honorable Mention pick in 2007 and Bruce Bickford, Manos' predecessor in the cage, was an Honorable Mention selection in 2008. The last Dragon to be selected to the USILA's Third Team was Lynn Ferguson in 1971.
