Women's Soccer Ready For Hawk Hill Showdown Tonight

Philadelphia - Drexel women's soccer looks to bounce back from an 0-2 showing at the Temple Owl Eyes Classic last weekend when the Dragons travel to play city rival Saint Joseph's tonight at 5:00 p.m. The Dragons are in search of their first victory over the Hawks in this, their sixth meeting with their neighbors to the north.
A trio of Dragons were honored for their performance last weekend. Jenna Lindsay, Megan Mahon and Biz Matta all took home All-Tournament honors from the weekend competition. The success the team tonight will likely be tied to the performance of these core players and their ability to elevate the play of their teammates.
Drexel's last meeting with Saint Joseph's was on Sept. 21, 2008. The Dragons came up just short in a 2-1 defeat to the Hawks. Drexel ralled from a 1-0 deficit to tie the match on an Aleka Yiantsos penalty kick in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, Saint Joseph's got what proved to be the game-winning goal just 11 seconds later, and held on for the victory.
Tonight's match will be played on the campus of Saint Joseph's at Finnesey Field on City Ave.
