Wrestling Drops Two at CAA Duals

Fairfax, Va. – Drexel fell to Binghamton, 22-12, and was barely edged by Old Dominion, 22-18, at the CAA Duals hosted by George Mason. Joe Booth and Justin Wieller went 2-0 on the day while six other Dragons split going 1-1.
Despite taking six of 10 individual bouts against the Monarch's, Drexel was bested as ODU recorded two pins and a major decision to give them the four point victory margin. After giving up the first three match-ups, Drexel posted four wins in a row including Booth and Wieller's first of two wins, a 9-2 and 3-2 decision respectively. ODU's Joe Budi broke up the streak with a major decision victory over Shawn Fausey at 184 pounds. Brandon Palik and Jack Callender's wins for Drexel to cap the match proved to be too little for the Dragons to comeback.
Drexel took just four individual match-ups over Binghamton during the loss. Booth recorded his second win on the day with an impressive 8-5 decision over Intermat's No. 19, Justin Lister. Booth leads Drexel with 16 wins this season. Wieller picked up his 10th win on the season as he defeated Binghamton's Ryan McGrarity in a 6-3 decision.
Drexel will return to action on Friday, Jan. 21 as it starts a four game home stand against American. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. and is Drexel Wrestling's homecoming day.
