Drexel Field Hockey Welcomes Hofstra on Senior Day Sunday

Philadelphia – The Drexel women's field hockey team hosts the Hofstra Pride in the final regular season game on Sunday, October 30 at 12:00 p.m. at Buckley Field. Prior to the game, Monica Baick, Kim Chiarelli, Elizabeth Koch, Mariel Marinelli, Sofia Sanguinetti, Ashley Santee, and Brooke Underwood will be honored on Senior Day. The Dragons enter the weekend 10-8 overall and 3-4 in conference play after falling to Northeastern, 2-1, in a tightly contested field hockey game on Friday night.
Drexel leads the all-time series 16-13-1. Last time out, the Dragons broke open a 2-2 game after halftime to move past Hofstra, 5-3. Christina Mastropaolo established a new program record with five goals in a game while breaking the career Division I program record for goals with 53 while Susan Ciufo tied her own record with three assists. Drexel outshot the Pride, 29-6, and earned nine of the game's 12 penalty corners.
Hofstra dropped to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in the CAA after a 3-0 loss against Towson on Friday night. The Pride posted conference wins against William and Mary, VCU, James Madison, and Delaware. Senior Genna Kovar leads the team with 24 goals, 18 assists, and 66 points. Teammate Krizia Layne has tallied 11 assists and 51 points. Senior goalkeeper Amanda Heyde has made 47 stops for the Pride.
