Drexel Gears Up for No.4 Connecticut on Sunday

Philadelphia – Drexel Field Hockey will complete in its third straight road game on Sunday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. as the Dragons face national power No.4 Connecticut. Drexel enters the game 4-1 overall after shutting out Sacred Heart on Friday night. The Dragons are 1-1 in away contests.
Sophomore forward Elise DiDonato set a new career high of two assists in the 3-0 win over Sacred Heart. DiDonato leads the team in assists. Teammate Kim Chiarelli saw 33:07 minutes of action in the cage for the first time this season against the Pioneers.
Connecticut leads the all-time series 2-1. Last season, the Huskies proved their top-ten ranking and shutout the Dragons 4-0. While the game was evenly matched after a first half tie at 0, Uconn tallied four unanswered goals in the second half to seal the deal.
The Huskies defeated No.16 Albany, 1-0, and improved to 4-0 on the season. Connecticut slipped past No.8 Penn State, 2-1, in overtime last Sunday. The Huskies also picked up wins against Stanford and Hofstra. Senior back Jestine Angelini leads the team with four goals and three assists for 11 points.
