PHILADELPHIA - After struggling through the early season, the Drexel men's soccer team opens conference play on Saturday afternoon when they host William & Mary at Vidas Field at 4:00 p.m. Drexel will be in search of its first victory of the season when they take on the Tribe, who are 4-3 thus far this season.
The Dragons have played strong defense of late, having given up just two goals in their last three games. Both resulted in 1-0 losses, however, as Drexel has not managed to light up the scoreboard in those contests. They will be searching for an improved offensive attach while maintaining the strong defensive play when William & Mary comes to town.
The William and Mary Tribe arrives in Philadelphia with an overall record of 4-3 after posting an impressive, 2-0 win over UNC Greensboro on Tuesday night. The College has played one of the toughest non-conference slates in the conference, having faced three top-25 teams through just seven matches. Leading the Tribe offensive is Nicholas Abrigo, who has four goals on the season.
Saturday's game is the second in a three-game homestand for Drexel, which will host Temple in its final non-conference match on Wednesday. The game will be streamed live on DrexelDragons.com as the Dragons' featured game of the week.
